The Stillhouse Rounders are a group of very talented musicians from the Hudson Valley of New York State. They play traditional acoustic oldtime rural stringband music reminiscent of the early stringbands recorded during the "Golden Years" of stringband music throughout the rural south and midwest during the 1920's and 1930's. This music grew out the traditional ballad and dance music of the Appalachian Mountains along with early country music (during it's infancy before it became modern "Country and Western"). Besides being a performance band they also work with several excellent dance callers to provide participatory contra and square dances for your guests. All ages and abilities welcome and each dance is walked through before the dance is set to the music.
